Hey VR fitness fans! Looking for a change from FitXR? Start with the part of your workout you’d like to make different: the soundtrack, the class format, the movement or the recurring payment. That gives you a much better shortlist than a row of calorie estimates.
We make PowerBeatsVR, so you’ll hear our developer perspective here. Our focus is adjustable, music-led cardio without a required subscription. Other apps take different approaches, and the right one depends on what you enjoy.
PowerBeatsVR: bring your music into the workout
If the soundtrack is what gets you moving, this is where we’d start. PowerBeatsVR combines official workouts with a generator for supported local music files. Choose a song, set the difficulty and adjust the mix of punching, dodging and squatting.

You can put together a short playlist after work or spend longer with a session when you have time. You’re choosing the workout, rather than following a live coach. Local music also means actual audio files: it isn’t direct Spotify streaming. Our FAQ explains the setup for Quest, PCVR and PSVR2.
The base game has no required subscription. Optional add-ons are separate.
LES MILLS BODYCOMBAT: keep the coaching
If you enjoy someone guiding you through a session, LES MILLS BODYCOMBAT deserves a look. Its martial-arts-inspired workouts include coaching cues and a selected soundtrack. The paid base app doesn’t require a subscription; optional DLC adds content. Compatible Quest versions also offer mixed reality.
Synth Riders: find a flowing rhythm
Synth Riders is a good one to investigate if you’d like dance-like movement and flowing arm patterns. It offers a different feel from a boxing-focused class. Check the exact version’s custom-content instructions if bringing in community songs is important to you; platform availability alone doesn’t establish import support.
Audio Trip: follow the choreography
Audio Trip centers on choreographed dance movement. It may appeal if learning a designed sequence sounds fun. Its choreography tools are a different workflow from PowerBeatsVR’s automatic workout generation, so choose with that distinction in mind.
The Thrill of the Fight: step into the ring
The original The Thrill of the Fight focuses on boxing against virtual opponents. If that sounds more exciting than another music-led class, read its hardware and space requirements. Keep the original and sequel separate when comparing features and purchases.
What would make the switch worthwhile for you?
Pick the experience first, then compare the total cost. FitXR has monthly and annual membership options; its current pricing guide is a better reference than assuming twelve monthly payments. Check your region and renewal terms too.
For music control and self-directed workouts, explore PowerBeatsVR on Quest or Steam. If you switch away from a membership you no longer want, remember to handle cancellation under that provider’s terms.
