Hello, VR fitness community! When cold weather makes heading outside less inviting, it’s good to have an indoor session you can look forward to. Put on a favorite song, make some room and give movement a place in the day.
PowerBeatsVR is one way to do that: music-led punching, dodging and squatting at home, with settings you choose. Here are a few ways to build an indoor routine that fits your space, budget and mood.
Pick the activity that suits today
An indoor walk, a dance session or suitable bodyweight exercises can be a simple, low-cost start. A bike or treadmill may suit you if you like continuous exercise with familiar equipment. VR brings a different draw: music, targets and game feedback to keep you engaged with the movement.
Choose what you enjoy repeating. You can mix these options through the week rather than deciding that winter has to belong to one activity.
Get your PowerBeatsVR space ready
Our listed minimum is 2 × 1.5 metres of clear playspace. Check full arm clearance as well, remove trip hazards and keep people and pets outside the area. Use controller straps and follow your headset’s boundary guidance.
Keep water nearby but outside the movement area. If you’re using mixed reality, you still need the same clear space; seeing the room doesn’t make furniture safe to move into.
Use the version for your hardware. Quest standalone doesn’t require a gaming PC; PCVR and PSVR2 have their own requirements. Our setup FAQ helps you check the details before play.
Have a session ready before you need it
Choose a familiar official workout or a short playlist in advance. That way, the first decision isn’t what to play when you’ve already had a busy day.

Start at an easy difficulty and a movement mix you can perform comfortably. One song, a break and another song if you feel good is a simple example to adapt. You can finish after the first song too.
If you use your own music, transfer the supported files ahead of time. Our generator lets you choose the difficulty and movement settings; you remain in charge of the session and when to stop. Leave the headset off when you’re unwell.
Keep the wider routine in view
Indoor VR can be your cardio option without taking over every part of training. Running goals still need run-specific preparation, and strength goals need suitable resistance work. You can keep those activities alongside a playlist-led workout.
Track a familiar session’s active time, settings and effort if you’d like a simple reference for progress. Build gradually as it becomes comfortable, rather than treating every winter evening as a hard workout.
Work out the cost for your setup
If you already own compatible hardware, check the base game’s current price and any optional content you want. If you’re new to VR, include the headset and any required PC or console. PowerBeatsVR’s base game has no required subscription; optional add-ons are separate.
Explore the current Quest or Steam offer when you’re ready. We’d love to hear what’s on your winter workout playlist over on Discord.
Keep moving and enjoy the music,
