Hey everyone! If a monthly fitness subscription isn’t your thing, you’ve still got plenty of ways to get moving in VR. The fun part is finding a workout you’ll look forward to: boxing to your own music, following a coach, dancing through a song or stepping into a virtual ring.
We build PowerBeatsVR for people who want music-led workouts with control over their songs and settings. Here’s how our approach fits alongside a few other subscription-free options.
Start with the movement you enjoy
| App | What you’ll be doing | A useful detail to check |
|---|---|---|
| PowerBeatsVR | Punching, dodging and squatting to official workouts or your own music | File formats and features for your headset |
| LES MILLS BODYCOMBAT | Following coached, martial-arts-inspired sessions | Base workouts and optional DLC |
| Synth Riders | Moving with flowing, dance-like rhythms | Custom-content support on your platform |
| The Thrill of the Fight, original | Boxing against virtual opponents | The version you’re buying and its space requirements |
In PowerBeatsVR, a favorite song can become the starting point for a workout. Choose a supported local audio file, pick your difficulty and movement mix, and let the generator build a layout. Official workouts are there when you want to jump straight into a prepared session.
If you’d rather follow coaching cues, LES MILLS BODYCOMBAT is worth a look. For flowing rhythm movement, explore Synth Riders. And if a virtual boxing opponent is your main draw, check the original The Thrill of the Fight. Its sequel is a separate game, so compare the right listing.
What does a one-time purchase cover?
A paid base game gives you its included content without a required recurring membership. Optional music packs, environments or other add-ons can still cost extra. That’s how PowerBeatsVR works: our base workouts and local-music generator don’t require a subscription; optional add-ons are separate.
Include the hardware in your budget if you don’t already have it. Also check the store for your device: buying a Steam version doesn’t automatically give you a Quest or PlayStation copy, and features can differ between platforms.
Make the soundtrack personal
One of the things we love giving you is room to choose. You can start with a familiar official workout, then bring in a local song and adjust the movement settings as you learn what you enjoy.

For your first import, use a supported file you own or have permission to use. Streaming-service offline downloads generally aren’t ordinary music files you can select in the game. Our music and setup FAQ covers formats, transfer steps and permissions.
Choose the format you’ll come back to
A subscription can be good value if you regularly use its classes and coaching. A base-game purchase can suit you better if you prefer choosing your own sessions. Compare the full cost and the experience, rather than letting the payment model make the whole decision.
If your own soundtrack and adjustable workouts sound like your kind of cardio, take a look at PowerBeatsVR on Quest or Steam. We’d love to hear which movement style keeps you coming back—join us on Discord.
See you in VR,
